Stairway to Heaven: original and edited
This art from David Handley is a nine and a half meter long and nearly five meter high sculpture of Stairway to Heaven. The sculture plays with perspectives and makes an illusion of infinity stairs.
The origin of “stairway to heaven” metaphor is in Christianity. People believed that Jesus Christ is the way to God. Some people took the stairway as a life path trying to reach God by doing good deeds and some people believed that they can buy their way to heaven with money.
I placed the disabled woman next to the stairway because I wanted to point out that not every one of us can reach the top of it. I also wanted to point out that not everything written in the Bible is true and we should think about those religious things before we start to believe them or even try to live by them.
