Developing for Security:

Public attacks and data breaches are becoming far more prevalent and devastating for businesses — take TalkTalk, Ashley Madison & Carphone Warehouse for example. Building a security aware culture has never been more pertinent. As a society we’ve become complacent with our approach and for too long we’ve be doing things in ways that are not effective against today’s challenges. In this infographic we discuss pushing security from the bottom-up versus an archaic, but ubiquitous ‘top-down’ model.

To achieve this goal of a security aware culture, security thinking needs to begin at the start of the development lifecycle, as security as an afterthought is rarely effective. For any real paradigm-shift to occur it needs to start with our developers, engineers & operators. We’ve visually explained the 7 foundations for secure architectures, focusing on our keystone ‘security is always about the weakest link’, consistency in secure development practices is of course the most important of all.
For further reading on the foundations of secure architectures we recommend you read OWASP’s Whitepaper.

We’ve recently visually explained; the premise of Continuous Testing & Security, Incident Response Strategies , The Anatomy of a Data Breach & Many more.
