My name is Visvak and I am a writer and editor.
I am co-creator of India Ink, a public history project that aims to take academic knowledge about Indian history to the masses.
I also work on fiction — research, development, and scripting for web series and podcast projects.
In the past, I’ve worked in print and digital journalism — as an editor and as a reporter. I used to run Dialogue, BuzzFeed India’s essays section, and prior to that, I worked as a features writer and editor at The Hindu and at BusinessLine. I also had a stint as a freelance academic editor with the Economic & Political Weekly. More on my professional journey here.
As a reporter, I have primarily covered the technology beat and its intersections with politics and culture. As a commissioning editor, my focus has been on gender and caste.
