For the past few days, the engineering team here at Vitable has been working on the first and only tool of its kind, a township-level COVID-19 tracker.

Our engineering team built the tool to support the Vitable providers that are on the front lines going to treat patients in their homes. They wanted to provide people in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties a way to see how COVID-19 is spreading not only in our state but in their county and even in their Township.

The hope is that as people look at the county and township level data and see how many of their neighbors are getting the virus, they are able to think twice about leaving their homes for non-essential travel and comply with the shelter in place order.

“For instance, I currently live in Ridley Park. I was surprised to see that there are already 4 confirmed cases and 1 death in our township,” Joseph Kitonga, Vitable’s founder and director of business development said. “That data brought to life the reality that we are living with and made it more personal for me.”

Pennsylvania is currently under a “shelter in place” order. This order is in place preventing people from leaving their homes for anything besides “essential activities” such as food and medicine. We are urging not just Pennsylvanians, but the whole country to stay at home and to use and share this tool to stay safe.

Vitable has made it our mission to help contain, prevent, and treat throughout the Philadelphia area, using real-time data is essential to this mission. If you or your family needs to be seen, Vitable can send providers to your home so that you can stay safe and get the healthcare that you deserve and need!
