I was a newly wed when my husband was promoted by the bank he worked for. We moved hundreds of miles from our familiar, bustling community to a small town hundreds of miles away.
I didn’t have a job and spent my days trying to be a good housewife. It was brutally lonely. Fortunately we soon found a welcoming church community and my social life improved.
We met other young couples, similar in age and quickly became friends. We were in each other’s homes all the time, sharing tips, going out and having a truly wonderful time.
I also became very close to one of the ladies. We shared common interests as we had previously lived in the same town, although we hadn’t known each other at the time.
