Here’s a spoiler, your funnel won’t make you money but your sales offer will, without any doubt, it’s a fact you should pay attention to.

You could be thinking, “I thought a funnel is essential to every business which has a strong marketing strategy” and if that’s your thoughts?

You’re not wrong.

In fact, you’re very correct. But here’s the thing about what you already know on the importance of funnels that you’ve not paid attention to.

Although funnels are very important to your Marketing Strategy, they are still not what makes your customer pull out his/her credit card to pay you. Always remember this.

Now I’m not saying a funnel is not necessary, what I’m saying is, it’s not the Job of the funnel to convince your customers to pay you!

I’ll try illustrating the job of your funnel a little bit, but here’s a common saying I grew up knowing, “you can take a horse down to the stream, but you cannot force the horse to drink water”.

With this illustration, your funnel is what takes a lead (the horse) through your entire marketing plan, from dropping his contact details, the email sequences, the free webinars, then the offer (down to the stream). At this point, your funnel has done its job.

But then your leads pull out completely, without making the supposed action, after passing through the entire process successfully and the implication of this to any business is, NO SALE!!

This is the case for many businesses and Digital Marketers who put so much effort into coming up with great content for the Lead Magnet, the Emails, and every other activity that takes place within the funnel.

And just when the lead is supposed to punch in his card details and pay for your product or service, they pull out. Why does this happen, you may ask? I’ll tell you here and now;

There’s an objection in their mind that is keeping them from paying or subscribing to your service or doing what you want them to do!!!

Due to that objection, they will not take the action that you need them to take. And this is because your offer has not dealt with the objections in their mind.

I want to believe you now understand what a Funnel is and the role it plays to ensure that your customers move from one point to the other in your Marketing Strategy.

Since you already have a strong grasp on why you have so many leads in your Funnel and yet only 4 out of 20 leads in your Funnel makes a payment, would you love to know how a well written offer can completely change the sales activity in Your Funnel?

Offers that Generate Sales

Here’s what you should put your mind on, “How to write an offer that answers the objections in the minds of your customers.”

Before we get into all of that, you will need to know what an offer is, apart from knowing that an offer deals with the objections that your customers may have when they are about to pay for either your service or product.

So what’s an Offer? According to the Business Dictionary, an offer is a “Voluntary but conditional promise submitted by a buyer or seller (offeror) to another (offeree) for acceptance and which becomes legally enforceable if accepted by the offeree

This definition drops the canon on everything you need to pay attention to about what an offer is;

  1. It is voluntary
  2. It is a conditional
  3. It has a promise

Writing a strong, engaging, and compelling OMG offer is a skill that very few people possess — the Direct Response Copywriters, Sales Experts, the list goes on.

And if you’re like me, you will think that you’re in no position to write an offer that is both compelling and punchy for either your products or services.

Well, if that’s what you think. I am glad to tell you that you’re wrong this time around

Because you can actually write a great offer for your marketing campaign that you may be currently running.

How to Structure Your Offer

At this point, I’d love you to look at the picture above with the “Save up to 50%”.

Okay, have you looked at it? You’d agree that it’s an offer right? It’s a black Friday sale offer written in a big bold yellow promise screaming “SAVE up to 50%” with a caption saying “Now It’s Time to Save Big.”

In other to structure a good offer, you don't need to craft long sales words, all you need to do is include these three-points in your offer:

  1. A promise
  2. A Condition
  3. A Voluntary

Remember the picture above? Look at it once again. And try to see if you can spot the structures of a good offer in the picture. Could you spot any? Yes? anyways Let’s do it together;

Does the offer in the picture have a promise? Yes, it says “Save up to 50%”, Does it have a condition attached to it? Yes, the offer is only valid for the “Black Friday sale”. Is it voluntary? Yes, they could have decided against the 50% off, but they didn’t.

As simple as this could seem, Offers that have these structures are common to many successful marketing funnels on the internet.

With Digital Marketing growing stronger, and you are looking to close more leads that pass through your funnel. You should probably focus on your offer and see how you can either improve the promise, or the condition attached to it.

As a side note: Offers are usually/always voluntary, so don’t put much attention here but do well to create stunning offers for your services and or products.
