Learn to Find Beauty in Who You Are
We’re all beautiful roses — but can’t all be petals
“I’m done with dating beautiful women!”
I had phoned my friend Marc for a quick lunchtime chat and this was how he answered my call.
I didn’t know what to say, or think, so went with “why?” to break my stunned silence.
My brain couldn’t process a world where Marc wasn't dating a stunning beauty. A thought ran through my head — maybe it wasn’t Marc I was talking to. Maybe I’d dialled a wrong number.
Except I hadn’t. It was him. And he told me the reason why he was done with dating beautiful women.
“She’s paralysed.” I wasn’t expecting that response. Infact, I was disappointed that my friend was being so fussy, picky and downright discriminatory in his attitude. I had never thought of, or seen, him that way.
As I opened and closed my mouth, with no words coming out, he continued, “She’s paralysed from the neck up.” He chuckled at his own little joke, which I still didn’t find funny.
That day I learnt that outer beauty matters until it doesn’t.
Outer Beauty and Petals
We’re all beautiful roses – but not all of us can be petals and that’s okay.
