Life’s little surprises — Part One
Danny was looking forward to his first business trip. Just the idea made him feel like he was now a real businessman.
The night before he was due to fly out he called Nancy.
“Hello, gorgeous!”
“Hi honey!”
Her voice sounded like music - smooth, soothing and calming. That was one of the things he loved about her.
“Be ready in an hour. I’m coming to pick you up.”
“Why, where are you taking me?”
“Aha! That's for me to know and for you to find out!” He loved teasing her and keeping her in suspense.
“Honestly, Danny McCabe. You are impossible!”
“Correction - I am possible!”
If there was one thing Nancy loved about Danny it was his insatiable appetite for life and his spontaneity. There was never a dull moment in their relationship. She knew deep in her heart that this was the man she would want to spend the rest of her life with - if he ever proposed.
