Dance to The Drop is a non-profit video campaign that raises awareness on the true value of the night-life music industry, and on the importance of all the workers involved.

The video, an emotional collection of club and festival images that speak on behalf of all the workers of the music scene, is a project that joins the forces of Elephant Studio, Alma Visuals and Vita Pictura, with the support of many filmmakers around the world.

The video is directed to everyone in the scene: from artists, to promoters and organizers, to labels, to booking managers, to technicians. It is a global shout-out in the name of all the workers of the music business, a community that is often left in the shadow.

The name “Dance to the drop” is a parallel comparison between an electronic track and today’s global situation. With the world in global lockdown due to Coronavirus, these days are compared to the build-up of an electronic track before the drop, “the Drop that will bring us back together”, as the voiceover says.

This voice over will inspire the audience of the music world to remain united through music and dance, to be a strong and united community with a powerful voice, and to keep on dancing indoors to dance together again tomorrow.

Dance to the Drop starts with strong and impressive festival images that sum up why we love to dance and why music is so important to us. This introduction reminds the viewer what it feels like to be part of a community.

A large family that lives for crowds and dancing together.

The concept that “we haven’t stopped dancing” will guide us through the core of the film. The images of people dancing today, virtually and from balconies, are the proof that dancing is a language of its own, expressing all feelings from joy, to fear and loneliness. It might be a brief escape from reality.

This is what people in the music business do: give people the opportunity to feel free and distant from social, economical, political or personal problems, through music and dance.

It’s important to communicate this message because music is not just a job, it’s part of everyone’s life.

The video ends with a meaningful double message:

The phrase “We’ll dance together again”, said by all workers of the music business will be an encouraging message for the dance-life community and passionates, while the final on-screen message will be a call to action directed to workers of the environment to speak up, and to institutions to take the message on board.

This video also gives the opportunity to donate to different funds, such as the “Spotify Music Relief” fund, SINAE, and the International Red Cross.
