The Vite mainnet will undergo the 6th upgrade this November. With the code name “Saturn“, this upgrade will include improvements for smart contract development and adjustment of key parameters on ViteX, including ratios for mining $VX, and the cost for generating referral codes.

Staged Rollout
Note that we will first release go-vite for public testing (v2.11.0-rc1). All SBPs are advised to upgrade to this version for testing purposes. Pending successful upgrade, Vite Labs will release a finalized version (v2.11.0) identical to v.2.11.0-rc1, and further upgrade to this version will be optional.
In the event that v2.11.0-rc1 introduces unforeseen problems, Vite Labs will release a new public testing version, and all SBPs will need to upgrade to this new version.
New Features
Improvement for Smart Contract Development
Reduction of resource consumption (Quota) for smart contract deployment. The Quota required for deployment will become 10% of the originally required amount. For example, if deploying one smart contract consumes 1.5 million Quota previously, the new requirement will only consume 150,000 Quota after the upgrade. This change will allow the deployment of more complex contracts.
VX Mining Ratio
The new mining ratios will be:
- Trading as mining: 55%
- Staking as mining: 20%
- Market making as mining: 15%
Referral Codes
The cost for generating a referral code will be reduced to 100 VITE from 1000 VITE.
