2023 has been a tumultuous time for the world of web3. With the downfall of major centralized exchanges, exposure of nefarious industry leaders, and hacks of decentralized applications, technologies and teams have been put to the test. Through five years of dedicated work, Vite was able to survive crypto winters and build through the ups and downs of web3. Below is a brief summary of the Vite ecosystem over the past few months.
First network upgrade of 2023: Vite successfully completed a MainNet upgrade, receiving support from exchanges like Binance and Coinex: https://medium.com/vitelabs/the-8th-vite-mainnet-upgrade-95e173713ce1
Quota system upgrade: Vite will share more about improvements to the quota system and will lower the barrier for new community members to educate themselves.
Initial release of Vite Portal: Vite has deployed Vite Portal internally and completed beta testing: https://github.com/vitelabs/vite-portal
Vote system upgrade: Vite has completed design for this major upgrade and is currently in development. The voting function of the Vite application and web wallet will also be available. After this function is launched, the circulation of VITE will be reduced, and this is planned for Q3 2023.
Vite DAO progressive decentralization: Vite released the VITE DAO plan, as well as a decentralized governance tool on TestNet, which is currently being tested: Vitasensus

Re-deployment and upgrade of Vite TestNet：Upgrading the TestNet is one of Vite’s priorities in early 2023. Vite has completed three major upgrades. The first upgrade was a re-deployment of the TestNet to improve usability. The second upgrade was to support the “await” function for the test network, and the third upgrade was to increase the contract support for the test network to meet the needs of more developers.
Publish trade as mining rules and open trade mining for community operators: Vite released new mining rules, allowing all operators to apply for trade-as-mining and market-making-as-mining
Decentralized gateway: The Vite community and third-party operators will participate in the management of Vite Labs Gateway. Decentralized gateways are important for progressive decentralization. For security reasons, Vite is working on a detailed plan for the addition of third-party gateways.
