To incentivize more ecosystem participation, we have streamlined the processes for updating token, operator and gateway information. The full requirements are published here and may from time to time be revised. Make sure you always refer to this page for the most up-to-date version of this document.

Token Information Update

On the Vite chain, minting a token is permissionless and very easy. Simply go to https://x.vite.net/walletMintage, key in the required information and complete the minting process. The minted token has all the capabilities of all tokens on the Vite chain. They are ready for transfer or to take advantage of any ecosystem tools.

The Token Information Update process allows the token owner (the person or project who minted this token) to add more detailed information to their token — information such as a token logo, project details, website, white paper, etc.

Requirements

To facilitate this process, please submit a pull request here.

All Token Information Update must submit the following required information:

  1. A token logo. This must meet the specifications outlined in the pull request
  2. Token overview. Detailed information on the purpose and utility of this token
  3. Any additional information associated with this token such as project information, project website, white paper, social media, etc.

ViteX will review your pull request within 7 days. Your information will be updated upon approval.

Operator Profile Update

On ViteX, any person or project can, in a permissionless manner, list trading pairs of tokens that they are associated with. These tokens can be Vite native tokens or cross-chain tokens. Once you list your trading pairs on ViteX, you are by definition an Operator.

To list a trading pair on ViteX: go to https://x.vite.net/tradeOperator. In this page, you will get the chance to set more detailed information and open the trading pair.

The Operator Profile Update process allows the Operator to add more information to their Operator status — Operator logo, Operator website, roadmap, etc.

Requirements

To facilitate this process, please submit a pull request here.

Please also fill out this form in addition to the pull request.

All Operator Profile Update must submit the following information:

  1. Name of the Operator
  2. Operator Logo. This must meet the specifications outlined in the pull request
  3. Operator Links. Website or social media channels.
  4. Operator’s Vite Address. The address of the owner of the trading pairs.
  5. Operator’s Customer Service Support Channel.

To ensure the authenticity that the Operator Profile Update is submitted by a team member of the Operator, please tweet from your official Twitter account on the profile update and notify the Vite team in our Discord server.

Gateway Profile Update

On ViteX, any person or project can, in a permissionless manner, run a gateway to bring cross-chain tokens onto the Vite chain.

To update the Gateway Profile, please submit a pull request here.

All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • The gateway team has established a fair online presence, this includes but are not limited to an official website, Twitter, a customer service platform such as Telegram or Discord.
  • No credible reports of a negative nature from the Vite community (e.g. sketchy practice, possible scam, etc.)
  • Self-certification that the following guidelines have been met.
  1. The cross-chain gateway has been set up and running for at a minimum of 1 month without known issues
  2. Internal policy on securing the original assets, such as managing custody with hot/cold wallet approach, safeguarding keys to ensure they are not stolen
  3. Unit Tests to make sure deposit/withdraw works well (try with edge cases)
  4. Code Review of the gateway code by a trusted third-party (without sharing the code with a potential attacker looking to exploit the code)

Ultimately the gateway is solely responsible for customer funds, and ViteX bears no liability for any loss.

To ensure the authenticity that the Gateway Profile Update is submitted by a team member of the Gateway, please tweet from your official Twitter account on the profile update and notify the Vite team in our Discord server.

Revoking of the Updated Gateway Profile

ViteX has the right to revoke the Updated Gateway Profile of any Gateway without prior notice. While we encourage more creation of Gateways, the quality of service provided by the Gateways is of the utmost importance. When one or more of the conditions are met below, ViteX may proceed to revoke the Updated Gateway Profile.

  • Unplanned halt of token deposit/withdrawal lasting for more than 24 hours without any legitimate reasons.
  • Behavior deemed inappropriate by ViteX, including but not limited to unusual amount of complaints from the community.
  • If the Gateway is sponsored an SBP by Vite Labs, during the first 2 years of SBP sponsorship, no new introduction of tokens for more than 2 months.
