Vites speaks out !
In order to be transparent, we, as Vites, wanted to give you guys an update:
As you know, we have come a long way since our initial launch, with many accomplishments in Q4 of 2018. As written on our roadmap for 2019, we planned a “Major Exchange Listing” as one of the goals to be achieved in Q1. On January 7 of 2019, we paid the listing fee to Cryptopia, for Vites to be listed in their exchange. Just in case you haven’t heard, on January 14 of 2019, Cryptopia was allegedly hacked. Since then, Cryptopia has suspended all trading and other activities, as Cryptopia has handed over the investigation to the proper authorities. At this point we are still waiting, like everyone else, to see what the outcome of that investigation will reveal. Please know that exchanges being hacked¹ is nothing new to the crypto world and is considered to be a part of the risk. As you can see there are big exchange names on that list that recovered well from such an attack and are still up and running. Anything is possible still.
Fundraising
The Cryptopia Hack was one of the main reasons we tried to raise $800 dollars from the community to pay for marketing. Thus far only $100 has been contributed. The people that are involved in the project from the start can acknowledge that we have never asked for a financial contribution from the community. This, therefore, shows the point we are now.
Radio silence
You probably noticed that since 2019 it has been a bit quiet from our side. The reason for this has to do with the above story. We apologize that we haven’t brought you this news sooner.
Altilly Exchange
On a brighter side, Altilly Exchange² offers free listing for the ‘Cryptopia victims’. We will apply, even though we know that this exchange is by no means a ‘replacement’ for Cryptopia, but we highly appreciate their initiative!
Together we want to see Vites succeed. At the moment the situation is quite difficult, especially because we do not hear anything back from Cryptopia. It is still a waiting game. But even when Cryptopia comes back chances are that it won’t be what it has always been¹. Because we value our beloved community, we ask you to think along with us. From here on out we are making a new development plan, and marketing plan to make Vites succeed in this time of insecurity.
What now?
We have already rolled out our Application (which was due for Q2) and soon there will be a big re-planning on the marketing plans for Vites. The roadmap is still achievable on many levels, and we will work towards a community environment. What that means is that we want to know the input of the community to get Vites come out of this healthier than ever before !
