Industry 4.0 is the term that is been a buzz in the recent months. Industry 4.0 has become a very much important concept on how it is going to transform the manufacturing industry and how it is going to use the tech revolution concepts like Decentralization, Automation and Digitalization.

Industry 4.0 refers to fourth industrial revolution that is the usage of the cyber-enhanced systems or bots , usage of the internet as a service , and the implementation of the automation in industry. In the present scenario this revolution is misinterpreted. The first industrial revolution in late 1800’s , it introduced machinzation i.e., the machines got geared up in the work place, that helped in efficient ,faster developing and production in manufacturing industries. That was the base model for industry revolution which is also called as “Factory model”. In the second industry revolution which happened at the end of the 19th century had the usage of the technology. This revolution is termed as the “Techonolgy revolution” which was based on the concept of mass production. In this usage of the electricity and communication , usage of the machinery, reduction in the distance using the railways and other means became extensive which helped there way for the mass production from the manufacturing industries. The third industrial revoultion occured in the 20th century brought the concept of digitalization. In this usage of digital medium to process and automate the industrial work was introduced.

INDUSTRY 4.0 (fourth industrial revolution)

Industry 4.0 which use the technology in vast . This revolution will impact the both physical and technical world. Technology advancement will impact the manufacturing capabilities and efficiency. The introduction of the cyber-enabled systems into the work force and the usage of the internet as a service to work with these bots will be improved. Adding intelligence to the regular work ethics will be introduced. Industry 4.0 is about the introduction of the smart ecosystem.

What changes does industry 4.0 bring ?

  1. Internet of service : refer’s to the usage of the IOT devices and application to provide a better service to the end user. Internet as a service will be extensive for the applications to processess.
  2. Intelligence at the work processes: refer’s to the implementation of the physical sytems that are embedded with the more decision making with-in processes. This apply the concept of artificial intelligence and usage of internet.
  3. IOT : Internet of things is a system of interrelated computing devices and objects that are provided with the UIDS(unique id’s) and the ability to transfer the data over the network without requirement of the human-to-human interaction or human-to-computer interaction
  4. IIoT : which refers to (Industrial Internet of Things) , one of the form of internet of things that is introduced into industries for efficient manufacturing.

Now, we say that industry 4.0 is all about advancement or the adding few elements on the industrial revolution 3.0 which is easily misinterpreted but there is universal difference. The third industrial revolution focused on introduction and automation of the processes , much of the thing the concept digitalization held the overall transformation (that is the migration of processes to automation). Industry 4.0 instead focus on the smart equipment that will interact together and make real-time ,expert and much of the thing an advanced decision making at processes.

Buisness and Oppurtunity with Industry 4.0

Industry 4.0 is actually designed and processed to make manufacturing in an efficient manner. This design will create a base root for the foundation of new business models for the industry. This is clear by going thorugh the principles of Industry 4.0.

The design principles of Industry 4.0 :

Interoperability:

This refers to the communication of people with the machineries and related components with the help of internet

Transparency in information and Technical assistance:

This gives the ability to the system to support the humans in a comprehensive and visualtization of infromation for better decision-making and quick solution to problems. It also focues on introduction of cyber-enabled systems to physically support human resources by handling various tasks, that consume time or harmful and etc.

Decentralization:

This principle mainly refers to the cyber-enabled systems to independently come up with decisions and carry out their functionalities in an efficient and communicable manner. This concept is characterized by huge cutomization of products in flexible manufacturing, as the industries dealing with mass production. This also enables the concept of decision making where-in the decision will be taken collectively by the smart network, without the need of the third-parties or any centeral authority or human intervention.

Industry 4.0, also gives the opportunity to the internet of service to create a better modularised manufacturing industries that are to be integrated, this also helps in easy shift from one fit to extremely personalized scenarios, in-which the end user have the complete control over the final product.
