We’re happy to announce a major new step towards our goal of being the unifying software platform for the connected home. With our current major release, connected lightbulbs and lamps from IKEA, Philips, and Osram now connect directly to zigbee-enabled gateways powered by Viva.
Users will no longer need additional bridges to use these bulbs and lamps. Instead, they can be installed and controlled directly from a Viva-powered gateway and app. This reduces the necessary investment to get started and cuts back on cable and box clutter, not to mention freeing up power sockets.
Connected light bulbs have taken the step from niche product to something that can be bought anywhere, and this new feature of Viva systems makes it even easier for mainstream users to continue building out their AI-powered homes day to day.
