Viva Wallet brings Google Pay to its customers in 20 countries.
Viva Wallet customers in 20 countries can now enjoy the benefits of Google Pay. Google Pay is the most popular mobile payment method for Android users.
The service is now available in Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, while from today the service is available in Greece, Portugal, Romania, Austria, Bulgaria, Ireland, The Netherlands, Croatia and Hungary.
Google Pay is a faster, more secure way to pay on websites, in apps, and in stores, by using the payment methods saved to the user’s Google Account. It protects their payment information with multiple layers of security and makes it easy to store loyalty cards, gift cards, offers, and more.
Easy to Set Up, Easy to Use
For the Android users of the new countries, the process of activating the new service is as follows: Through their Viva Wallet account the users choose to add their Viva Wallet Mastercard to Google Pay.
Once they have added their card, they can start using their phone to tap and pay wherever contactless transactions are accepted, such as in a store or for public transport, without needing to take out their wallet or use a pin pad.
Additionally, when the user would like to spend more than the predefined contactless transaction limit, they can do so easily by unlocking their phone before making the payment.
The Viva Wallet app doesn’t need to be open for the user to make a payment, and an Internet connection is also not required.
Data Security as Usual
Along with delivering convenience, by linking a Viva Wallet Mastercard card with Google Pay, an extra layer of security is added via Mastercard’s “Tokenization” technology. Mastercard’s platform protects cardholder information by replacing account numbers with a unique alternate card number, or “token.”
Google Pay is available for Viva Wallet customers in 20 countries. Belgium, Czech Rep., Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden, UK, Greece, Portugal, Romania, Austria, Bulgaria, Ireland, Netherlands, Croatia and Hungary.
