High-Intensity Interval Training, commonly known as HIIT, is the most effective and efficient fitness training method for burning fat. That makes it one of our favourites. Whether training for running, cycling, or just general healthier living, nothing quite fires up your fat burners than HIIT. How do I do it?

Whatever your fitness level, there is a HIIT workout for you. It doesn’t matter whether you are an experienced fitness fiend or just getting started, 18 years old or 50 years old, a HIIT session can be tailored to your level. It’s all relative. For example, beginners might focus their HIIT sessions around a mixture of jogging and walking, while fitter individuals might focus on inclined running and sprint. Regardless of your fitness level, the aim of the game is to crank your heart rate up to its maximal level during the intense sets — that’s what makes it so effective. You then recover during rest periods.

We’d recommend starting with 3 HIIT sessions per week. And those sessions don’t need to be long. Just 20–30 minutes of HIIT can quickly improve your fitness, performance and health. So, get on a treadmill, bike, or even venture to the great outdoors, and get started.
