What is JOIN?

JOIN connects traders to the markets and each other, in Augmented Reality-in real time.

Our development path for JOIN is based in part on the customer discovery and technology in our flagship app, Vivid AR Portfolio, available on iOS and Android. The key focus for our team has been two fold:

1. Creating a richer experience for those trading in the markets. A core condition for this demographic is utilization of various platforms, those for market data, and others for communication, in order to conduct their activities.
Market data, and discussion are both consumed in real time. Merging these two application needs and feature sets into a singular experience is of high importance to us.
2. Innovating our product portfolio through maintaining a clear focus on spatial computing, it’s evolution of supporting hardware and software, and new application user experience paradigms.
With the fast approaching growth opportunity of platforms and applications built for a spatial-first experience, our goals are to provide users value on today’s hardware such as the phones already in their pockets, while laying the groundwork for a world where spatial computing is the primary means of HCI.

We are fusing our goals, technology stacks, and user research into a new platform called JOIN.

JOIN is an Augmented and Mixed Reality-first application and platform. It allows users to create ‘rooms’ in 3D space, where their mobile or headworn devices act as as their physical presence in a multi-user experience.

When inside a room, users are able to see one another, and inhabit a shared space centered around a trading floor table. This table allows users to bring up their choice of coin or token trading pairs. Generating a candlestick chart, and granting access to technical analysis tools empowers users to talk in a group as they chart, discuss, and collaborate over market data.

Live Streaming and real time connection to the outside world, allow for the fusion of existing activities traders participate in today, with our vision for a spatially-focused computing landscape. One that includes traders on the forefront of digital currencies, to those on the forefront of the way we use digital computers.

JOIN’s short-term development and testing timelines is as follows:

June:

Coin candlestick chart selection — Ability to select coin/token trading pair, and exchange for insertion into discussion table for networked group viewing

Initial livestream tests — We will conduct live streams of group market data discussion on selected livestreaming capable platforms.

Initial livestream special guests — Based on prior testing, a simple show format hosts invited guests, in order to discuss market conditions live.

Custom room creation and exploration — Ability to create and join individual custom rooms. For example, the ‘Viacoin’ room may host those interested in discussing Viacoin market data.

Basic TA tools — Give users ability to select from line, and bounding box tools so they may conduct basic technical analysis of selected candlestick charts.

Integration of outside chat — Pending further review, a form of text based chat implemented to allow real time communication of web and mobile based viewers to participate and engage with those inside the experience.

Extension of TA tools — Pending further review, addition of new TA tools for candlestick chart augmentation.

Port to iOS — Support for iOS through ARKit added and to App Store Connect for Testflight closed alpha.

Livestream special guests and pop-up events — Leverage of breaking market news and data through special live streams to discuss with the community in real time the situation coverage.

Paid advertisers joining the platform — Introduction of VIVID Coin-paid advertisements inside the experience, as based on the format of our testing partner’s ads.

July:

Initial headset support — Experience port to HoloLens 2 and/or Magic Leap One for closed alpha testing

Google Play and Apple App Store Beta release — Open Beta release making JOIN available to those with a compatible mobile device.

Beyond:

With the post-release of JOIN to the public, we will reassess the trajectory of the platform, in order to best direct our product strategy. A few key items we keep in mind:

Deeper Integration of VIVID Coin — Through user to user interactions such as tipping, VIVID Coin continues to be the utility that empowers users inside the experience.

Evolution of mobile AR SDKs and MR headsets — With the acceleration of quality, capability, and price point in the spatial computing domain, we must stay vigilant in constantly reassessing what developments we can leverage in order to evolve our experience to match.

Qualitative and quantitative testing data — Through closed alpha testing from our users, and contribution from the trading community, a clearer understanding of what aspects are successful will become more clear.

Competitive landscape — As more companies seek to take advantage of spatially-focused applications and experiences in their product portfolio, our team’s focus is forecasting, and responding to developments as they occur.

An extended timeline will be released, in order to best fit the above qualities and more, as we make our way into the weird and powerful future of spatial computing in our lives.

Utility of VIVID Coin inside JOIN:

VIVID Coin is a proof-of-stake crypto coin that allows for ultra low transaction costs, with good transaction throughput.

VIVID is used for several key activities for both front stage users on the core experience, as well as back stage users leveraging the platform for advertising purposes.

Front Stage Users: User to user tipping is a cornerstone utility we envision for VIVID. With those inside the experience being able to first give tips to one another, then allowing those outside to extend a tip to those in the augmented space, VIVID is a fuel that empowers and engages users.
Back Stage Users: Advertisers may have their ad served to those not just in the experience, but secondary viewers who are seeing a meetup on livestream, or clips played back at a later time. VIVID Coin unlocks their ad to be inserted into the platform’s experience.
