It’s not amnesty when an organization takes sides of the people who brutally brutally raped & murdered an innocent women

Let’s look at this press release from the Amnesty International titled as “ Delhi rape case death sentences will not end violence against women” and what they have tweeted out , but it wasn’t just a rape case , it was an incident which shocked the entire nation and it was soo brutal that it’s difficult to even comprehend the pain which that woman must have passed through , before her life ended & there’s no room for such monstrosity. But Amnesty International tweeted out that [1] [2] [3] [4] -

“The Supreme Court’s decision to uphold death penalty for the accused in the Nirbhaya case is an unfortunate step towards the continued use of the death penalty in India.”

Certainly a lot of people have forgotten about the 2012 gang-rape case , but it’s pain still lives in India’s heart and always will , till equality is provided to every single Indian citizen and justice is provided for every crime.

2012 rape case -

With passing time people have forgotten what “Nirbhaya case” or 2012 gang-rape case was and how brutal this incident was , but let’s remember the crux of the event -

Anjani Trivedi / Associated Press : A protest, on Tuesday, condemning the rape of a 23-year-old on a moving bus in Delhi on Sunday.
  • The incident took place when a 23-year-old female physiotherapy intern, Jyoti Singh Pandey was beaten, gang raped, and tortured in a private bus in which she was traveling with her friend, Awindra Pratap Pandey [5].
  • The men then dragged Jyoti to the rear of the bus, beating her with the rod and raping her while the bus driver continued to drive.
  • Medical reports later said that she suffered serious injuries to her abdomen, intestines and genitals due to the assault, and doctors said that the damage indicated that a blunt object (suspected to be the iron rod) may have been used for penetration. That rod was later described by police as being a rusted, L-shaped implement of the type used as a wheel jack handle.
  • After the beatings and rape ended, the attackers threw both victims from the moving bus. Then the bus driver allegedly tried to drive the bus over Jyoti , but she was pulled aside by her male friend. One of the perpetrators later cleaned the vehicle to remove evidence.

Death of Nirbhaya

As according to the law of the land , the news organizations are not allowed to take the name of the rape victim and so the name “nirbhaya” was given to Jyoti , which means fearless. She suffered a lot , but even after getting transferred to Singapore in the emergency condition , she died an unfortunate death [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10].

Conclusion

India is a democratic country , with it’s own independent judiciary and calling in on the decision of the independent judiciary is not only an insult to the democracy , but lack of faith on Indian constitution and no mercy upon the ones brutalised and Amnesty International has done this again and again, So the question is , Is Amnesty International ,Travesty International ?. Think for yourselves …
