Turn your Google Analytics data into charts
Google Analytics connector was added to Vizydrop. I am going to show how to use it and what kind of possibilities has Vizydrop in comparing with other platforms which visualize GA. Find the tutorial below.
1. Connect your Google account
First of all, you need to connect your account to give Vizydrop permission to retrieve the data. Click Add Chart and select Google Analytics app in the gallery. Click Connect button. You will see Google’s authentication popup. Select one account you would like to use in the mentioned popup and click Allow button.
2. Create a chart from the predefined template
We have created a set of templates to make your life easy. It allows creating popular charts like daily users, active users, bounce rates and etc. in several clicks. Just select template you like and select GA properties and views in the template configuration popup.
3. Create a chart from scratch
You may proceed with making a chart from scratch if there is a need to build something specific using GA metrics and dimensions. I will cover comparing sessions over multiple Google Analytics Properties (hosts) which is not possible to do using GA itself.
a) Proceed with creating a new chart from the blank template and selecting GA account
You will get the data source configuration popup. Select google account you would like to visualize
b) Select GA Properties (hosts)
Let’s assume I would like to compare sessions count between old Vizydrop website and our new Trello website over date. So I select trello.vizydrop.com and old.vizydrop.com properties
c) Select corresponding views, date range, metrics, and dimensions.
There are a lot of metrics and dimensions in GA. You can find a detailed explanation here. I am selecting 90 days as a date range, sessions as metric and date as a dimension.
d) Proceed with creating and building a chart
Vizydrop allows comparing Google Analytics data across multiple properties, which can be useful on a stage of analyzing traffic from several landings.
