It has often been said that “Old is Gold”; pretty true to a great extent. But you can’t deny the fact that technology advancements have made our lives easier and brighter with every passing day. Vintage Cars:
Why do people prefer Vintage cars?
Well, this is the first question which comes to anybody’s mind when we talk about old cars these days.
There are various reasons one would love a vintage car for.
Vintage cars are such beauties made with elegance, indeed. The design of these cars was penned and sketched by the designers on a paper, showing their level of passion towards cars!
Classic cars were created very much in an analogue world where designers used pencil and paper to create elegant shapes and flowing lines that would just not be possible on the computer-based design software used by modern car designers. Take the front wing of a Jaguar XK120 or the profile of a Ferrari 250 GTO, for example.
Engineers in golden era were surely lacking advanced technologies but not dedication and ideas!
When it comes to maintenance and servicing, classic cars have to come out on top as most mechanical and servicing work you can do yourself. Modern counterparts are full of electronics and to get diagnostics tests done can cost a lot of hard-earned cash. Just about every mechanical part on a classic car can be stripped and rebuilt whereas most modern cars are full of electronics and sensors which often need to renewed. Some of the electronic parts can be quite expensive, so if you have the right gear; classic cars can be cheaper to repair.
Nostalgia also plays a large part in the appeal of classics. They all have a history, be it interesting or not!
Classic car production, unlike modern production, was mainly a manual job executed brilliantly with grace by the craftsmen of the age.
When it comes to insurance, classic cars come out on top as classic car insurance can be cheap when taken out with a company that specialises in classic car insurance. Even a daily driver with a classic car insurance policy would find insurance cheaper than driving a modern counterpart.
These delicately balanced beauties consist of mechanical systems comprising a lot many individual parts, all synced together to work in coordination. The driver is a direct extension to the machine, providing inputs and receiving direct, unfiltered feedback through the controls, resulting in an authentic experience that is just not possible with the modern equivalent!
Modern Cars:
Modern cars on the other hand are preferred mostly by youngsters. No doubt people relish classy but swag is on trend these days. People like modern cars with technological advancements like power steering, air-bags, safety measures, patterned keys, auto-ignition, power windows, GPS system and what not!
Modern cars are more gas efficient; saving you money at the pump. They are also made with many man made materials instead of steel, and are built with parts that wear down within a few years. To make a modern car as powerful as its forefather, they invented the turbo. Modern cars are cute, get great miles per gallons of gas, and handle excellent. In a lot of ways are safer than classics. Modern cars are all equipped with seat belts and air bags, whereas classics were not. A lot of manufacturers use recycled materials in their vehicles. In doing that it makes the car more affordable and it’s great for the environment too.
So basically, both classics and urban have won hearts of human kind from a very long while now.
Modern marvels or classic beauties, we leave the choice on you!
