Vlinder is proud to announce that the project we are developing in Indonesia in partnership with VNV Advisory Services, has been chosen for the carbon project portfolio of Julius Baer Group, the 2nd largest private bank in Switzerland by Assets under Management aiming to reach net-zero in its operations by 2030.

We share the same values and commitment to nature-based solutions that offer a reliable method for capturing carbon on a large scale while also benefiting the communities in the project area.

We are honored to be one of the two high-quality reforestation projects selected by the bank’s experts. With Julius Baer’s support, we will create a healthy ecosystem restoring 500 hectares of mangrove forest, providing new job opportunities and additional livelihoods for over 3000 people in North Sumatra. The project is committed to a science-based approach, fair benefit sharing, and transparency.
