Project Updates

SGX-based blockchain transaction privacy security protection method was published in the “Journal of Applied Science”

Recently, the latest research result “SGX-based Blockchain Transaction Privacy Security Protection Method” by the laboratory team was published in the “Journal of Applied Science”. Compared with traditional payment methods, blockchain has the advantages of decentralization and privacy protection, but there are still problems when it comes to the privacy, security and user-friendliness of lightweight client transactions. For this reason, a system that can provide privacy protection for the blockchain transaction process-SGXTrans is proposed. SGXTrans uses Intel’s software guard executions (SGX) technology on the lightweight client design framework to integrate user keys, generating user addresses and other cryptographic data and operations, as well as sensitive data during blockchain transactions. The privacy information processing process is placed in the SGX security zone for protection. In order to hide the data access mode of the local data storage process, SGXTrans also introduces a random access machine algorithm to prevent private information from being indirectly inferred by malicious attackers. Experimental results based on the existing blockchain network show that SGXTrans can ensure privacy security and user-friendliness at a performance overhead of less than 10%.

VNT Chain provides a blockchain development platform for the competition

The “China University Student Service Outsourcing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition” (hereinafter referred to as the competition) is an annual national competition held in response to the country’s relevant strategic measures and calls on encouraging the development of the service outsourcing industry and strengthening the training of service outsourcing talents. The main purpose of the competition is to build a platform for college students’ service outsourcing innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities that combine industry and education. The participating teams are all from domestic universities and colleges, mainly undergraduates, and they are free to form teams.

This time VNT Chain provides a blockchain-oriented development platform for the competition, providing technical documentation and technical support such as development tools, data interfaces, etc., to facilitate the rapid development of blockchain applications by the participating teams. The optional project topic “Blockchain-based degree and qualification certification management system” in this competition is developed based on VNT Chain, and the competition is currently underway.

[Problem description] Traditional paper and electronic authentication systems cannot completely eliminate fraud, and it is easy to cause personal privacy leakage in various links such as storage, verification, and authorization.

[User expectations] Develop a blockchain-based degree and academic certification management system, in which all nodes participate in verification during the process of data on-chain and on-chain verification, to minimize the possibility of fraud and improve privacy protection.

Task requirements:

[Development instructions] The following functions need to be completed

(1) Data generation and chaining process at the time of certification issuance;

(2) Verification method during certification verification: verify the hash value of the electronic certificate file;

(3) User interface: certificate generation, certificate winding, certificate query, certificate verification;

(4) Security and privacy protection.

VNT Chain first bunch of leader proposal published

On January 26, 2021, the VNT Chain leader proposal platform was released. The leader proposal release platform is divided into two parts: proposal and project establishment. Community users provide suggestions for the development of VNT Chain by initiating proposals around VNT Chain ecological development and technological development. In the proposal category, it is divided into 8 dimensions: core, product tools, research, ecological expansion, content, token economy, node governance, and others. Community users can choose different categories according to their proposal direction.

At present, many community participants have made proposals on the proposal platform, and everyone is welcome to participate.

Hubble Network (Public Chain)

Kepler Route (Cross Chain)

  1. SGX technology module that provides data protection for the process of smart contracts accessing key data under the chain — 75%
  2. Optimize the cross-chain gateway, the connector of the cross-chain specific blockchain network and the cross-chain network, and is responsible for opening up the data communication between the blockchain and the cross-chain. Each cross-chain gateway can be connected to one or more chains of the same blockchain network. The cross-chain gateway joins the consortium chain as a separate organization and has the authority to read and write data, but does not serve as a bookkeeping node to store the ledger.
  3. Optimize application chain management and register the application chain to the cross-chain network
  4. Optimize the sending and receiving of protocol packets, and be responsible for the forwarding of communication protocol packets across chain networks
  5. Optimize the application chain plug-in, responsible for the interaction with specific types of application chains. Unused blockchains have different data definitions and interaction methods. In order to support heterogeneous blockchains, plug-ins can be made to interact with blockchains. Different underlying types of blockchains can use different plug-ins.
