Our July Focus: Voting Rights

And the results are in: With a 51% majority, our community selected voting rights for our July focus (police brutality came close with 39%).

I’m excited for this choice because, though it’s not the hottest issue in the news today, protecting the right to vote is critical.

When our president bumbles about with false claims of voter fraud, when the federal government makes unprecedented requests for personal voter data, when politicians gerrymander their districts to death, and when hackers attempt to manipulate the outcomes of our elections, the integrity of the vote needs protection now more than ever.

We look forward to supporting an organization taking a stand for voting rights, a right that is critical to the functioning of our democracy, and holding our local, state and national officials accountable to their actions.
