Facebook Open Source Immersion is a new initiative taken by Facebook that will provide global developers with practical education and experience contributing to Open Source Projects in preparation for Facebook’s Annual Developer Circle Community Challenge which will be held in September.

Program Schedule:

Start Date: July 15, 2020, at 12:00 AM PST [July 15, 2020, at 12:30 PM IST]

End Date: August 15, 2020 at 11:59:59 PM PST [August 15, 2020 at 12:30 PM IST]

To take part in Open Source Immersion one has to be a member of any Developer Circle and must have a GitHub account. You can find your nearest developer circle here. To create a GitHub account click here.

Steps to follow:

  1. Register or login at @GitHub.
  2. Sign up for Developer Circle Open Source Immersion here.
  3. Sign Facebook’s contributor license agreement (CLA) here.
  4. Make a minimum of four pull requests (PRs) to any project with at least one pull request (PR) to any DevC GitHub Org or any Facebook-led Open Source Project.
  5. Share your GitHub profile link to your local Developer Circle Facebook Group.

The first 1000 developers will get special limited edition schwag from Facebook.
