We are proud to announce an extension of our partnership with the prestigious New York Academy of Art (NYAA) to include a residency program on Voice this Fall. The program brings alumni from the school as they explore the world of digital art.

The Residency is curated by Magda Sawon, a contemporary art gallerist who founded and owns New York’s Postmasters Gallery, a gallery for young and established contemporary artists. Her extensive expertise in both the traditional and digital art worlds make her a fantastic addition to the program. Participants in the Residency will receive a creation stipend, Voice credits for starting their own NFT collections, marketing and technical support, as well as participation in a speaker series hosted by NYAA x Voice.

The program is composed of 12 artists across the United States and Europe. For internationally exhibited Brooklyn-based oil painter and art educator Jacob Hicks, the Residency is all about expanding perspectives. “The digital possibilities for art really excite me. I’m eager to play with as many forms of making as possible, and I want to give my work a further voice.”

Many articles have been written about how the art world is approaching the rise of NFTs. The technology has been intimidating, infuriating, and exclusionary for many–but underneath it all, the savviest people in the art world have found a way to navigate this new space and to be a part of the Web3 community. NYAA has been a leading institution in the art world for decades, so it’s no surprise that they are confidently guiding their students and alumni into the future of art.

The NFT collections from NYAA alumni will begin dropping on Voice on September 7, 2022.

Keep up with the available art and follow the talented Residents.
