Broken Homes

What makes a home, a home?

You can live in any house or apartment or studio or condo or townhouse,

but does it feel like a home?

Because “home” is more of a feeling, rather than location.

A feeling of safety, of warmth, of love , of security.

Home is where you don’t have to walk on eggshells in fear that you might say the wrong thing,

Home is where you hold your best memories along with the worst. So many memories held between those four walls, memories of pain, but mostly love.

But is it safe to say everybody has experienced that love

Is it safe to say that in between four walls, in a persons own house, is it safe to dare say, that everyone has felt safe?

Because if they don’t feel safe, that place is not a home.

In between their own four walls, nobody should feel unsafe, lonely, unsecure, unappreciated.

because they can live in any house or apartment or studio or condo or townhouse,

but if that’s how they feel,

they are not living at home.
