Crimson Sun

As I walk at the edge of concrete

I ask

Do I go

To where the sun doesn’t shine

Do I go

To where flowers don’t bloom

Do I dare go

To where lightning doesn’t strike

Where thunderstorms are shushed

Where wildfires dare not blaze

I want to jump

To feel the quick freedom

Birds have

The rushing feeling

When the wind hits your face

But like a rain drop

My life splashes into

Crimson roses

I think to myself

That I still need to experience the sunshine

The flowers bloom

The rivers flow

So as I step away from the edge

And live through another day of

poison flowers and scorching sun
