Littering is bad… I guess

My name is London and my passion project is on the importance of cleaning up your garbage and not littering. My goal is to impact a community to stop littering and start picking up trash to show them the benefits of cleaning it. So, I started picking up trash around a park and I got multiple compliments on how it needed to be cleaned and how much they appreciate it. One woman asked me why i was doing it. I thought about telling her why it’s just important to clean your community and the benefits. But instead i blew it and just said i had to do it for school, causing her to just say “oh okay” then walks away.

I went out to collect more trash and had my brother help me. I had a goal to finish a specific amount of a park near my house. before i started i looked around and saw people just walking by all the trash maybe stepping on it but just ignoring it. So, I counted how many i had picked up in that hour of cleaning and it was over 100 pieces. A lot of the trash is
