Stow Lake

Over this past week, my partner and I explored the vast gardens and parks consisted in Golden Gate Park. Last week, we explored Embarcadero and the piers surrounding the bay of San Francisco. We had a hard time finding the answers we wanted and the conversations that we were striving to have with the tourists. Not only that, but my partner and I also were not able to find anyone that visited San Francisco often or anyone that lived around the bay. This week, we learned that in order to get the answers that contribute to our project, we need to ask people who are not tourists and feed the animals at the Park.

During this portion of our project, we learned that in order to get the answers we want, we have to go to non touristy areas of San Francisco. Last week in Embarcadero and on the Pier, there were many tourists who not necessarily gave us the answers we wanted since for many, it was their first time in the Bay Area. This time at Golden Gate Park, it was completely different. Out of all the people we interviewed, all of them lived in San Francisco and were not tourists. In addition to this, we were finally able to get the answers that were relevant to our passion project and didn’t have short, small talk answers.

In addition to having answers and relevant conversations relating to my partner and I’s topic, we also learn (or know) that feeding all the geese and ducks in Golden Gate Park. This was fun and allowed us to not think about trying to talk to strangers temporarily, and the animals equally enjoyed this time. Not only were all the regular animals there, there was also several families of baby geese. They were really cute, and my partner and I threw lots of crackers for them to eat.
