Hybrid Holiday

Heba Elorbany grew up in the U.S. in a Muslim family that celebrated the major Muslim holiday of Eid. But at her school, teachers and classmates talked about Santa Claus and sang carols at Christmastime. Elorbany phoned her mom to ask how her parents dealt with the holiday season — including a Santa incident, back when Heba was in kindergarten.
