In the social media slough that is Buzzfeed, memes and presidential tweets, we as writers lose incentive to share our crafted work. How can we compete?
A body of work such as Voices seeks to combat this. I believe the publication does make significant impact. It offers a mosaic of views from the left, collated and preserved; it is a reaction to the status quo, to the racist bullshit which permeates through our media, and to the injustice we see around us.
When people see our publication, they see over 100 articles written by 46 different authors. Each of these authors has a different voice, demanding change. We want to grow this number. We want to include you as well.
In the next few months we will be focusing on the primaries. We are looking at specific candidates and trends. We are talking about how to mobilize voters and organize campaign volunteers.
How to write for Voices of the Revolution
- Sign up on Medium.com
- Write your draft.
Write a first draft of your story. Familiarize yourself with Medium’s platform. Here are some tips and tricks we use when we write our stories. You can add pictures, headings, links and lists. - DON’T PUBLISH YET. We will review your draft and find the perfect time to publish it during the day.
- Share your draft with us. Copy and send the share link to our email: voices@thedigitalleft.com. We will go over your draft and make suggestions.
We will add your username to our publication and you will be able to submit your draft to Voices of the Revolution.
5. Add your draft to our publication.
Once you get confirmation that you are an author, click ‘Add to publication’. We will receive your submission and publish your story for you.
Sharing your story.
We will share your story on Reddit, Twitter and Facebook. We will keep you updated on your story’s stats, and do the best we can to get you as many readers as possible.
Once a month we share a newsletter to 100 subscribers. We choose our favorite stories and email them to our readers.
