We often profile one person whose request on Volley caught our attention and who we think is especially in need of Volley’s help.

With that in mind, today I want to introduce you to Patrick Thompson, an artist with an important mission and whose work I find simply stunning. You should check out more of it here.

Patrick’s non-profit has funded four young artists from Cape Dorset, Nunavut, to travel to downtown Toronto to collaborate on the painting of a large public mural.

The project is important because it is both a cultural exchange and an incredible opportunity for the Cape Dorset youth who have grown up in a notoriously difficult social environment with far fewer opportunities than you or I. This will be the first ever large scale urban mural by Arctic youth.

Let Patrick tell you more about it in his words here:

As you heard, here’s the problem: only 7 days before the young artists arrive, the owners of the wall that was donated have retracted their offer. The project is without a wall.

Patrick is looking for businesses or people in Toronto who can donate a wall for the purposes of a beautiful art mural.

If you can help Patrick directly, or if you know someone with connections in Toronto who can, please reach out. Together we can save this important project.
