A couple of months ago, we launched Vologram Messages, a new product using the same AI technology powering Volu, but experienced directly on the Web thanks to a leading WebAR solution 8th Wall, and we are very excited to see its great reception among professionals who want to communicate more effectively with their audience. Let’s take this one step further!
Introducing Volograms Module for 8th Wall
If you are a developer and want to bring your Volograms to your own customised WebAR experiences you can now easily do it using our new 8th Wall Module. We even built a basic A-frame demo so you can get started faster. So now going from a video to a WebAR experience is easier than ever:
- Just record a single viewpoint video using your smartphone or camera.
- Our AI converts into a 3D volumetric hologram — a Vologram!
- Use our 8th Wall module to bring that Vologram to your WebAR project.
Wait, there is more!
With the module we are also introducing a new volumetric video format which integrates geometry and textures. You can see an example in the A-frame sample project. This new format works great for web experiences running on older devices, so your project should be supported in a wide variety of platforms. We are making this new format available for all our Pro users, and we will be releasing a converter tool for our old format soon.
Do you use other WebXR platforms?
Check out our open source Volograms library where you can find the tools needed to read our format and build your own integration tools. You can also check this example with a Threejs player to get started!
Do you need Vologram streaming?
We got you covered! If you are capturing long sequences and you want to avoid long loading times, you might want to try streaming the content. For this, Volograms has partnered with Arcturus to offer volumetric video adaptive streaming. This means that you can use Arcturus integrations in your project, including of course, their 8th Wall module.
