We’re pleased to announce Volt Capital subsidiary TD Labs is actively participating in the Celo Network and running a highly secure validator on the network in collaboration with Staked.us. The Celo network graduated to mainnet on May 18th after running for ~three weeks as a release candidate.

This is a community-wide initiative and you can participate, too. Below we list the benefits of voting for the TD Labs/Staked Validator Group from an economic and operational perspective. We also provide comprehensive, step-by-step instructions on how to vote.

Why Vote for TDlabs_Staked Group?

TDLabs and Staked have been involved in the Celo network since early testnets. Both entities participated separately in the Celo Stake Off competition during the Baklava testnet. Both TD Labs and Staked earned the Master Validator Badge for demonstrating high operational security during the competition. Moreover, TD Labs ended the competition in the 21st spot among more than 100 professional staking companies demonstrating deep knowledge and understanding of the economics of the Celo protocol.

For Celo mainnet, TDlabs and Staked are joining forces to provide cutting-edge participation in the Celo Network: TDLabs (Volt Capital) with its investment and research experience and Staked with its excellent track record in operating secure and high-uptime infrastructure for several blockchains.

Through this collaboration, we can offer optimal participation in the Celo network and offer great value for Celo users who vote for our group.

How to Vote for TDlabs_Staked Group

If you self-custody

In the following instructions, we assume the user has installed the command window client for the Celo network Celocli. For instructions on how to install the client, visit this link. After installing Celocli, you need either to run a local node on your computer, or direct Celocli to use a public node offered by the Celo team.

celocli config:set — node https://rc1-forno.celo-testnet.org/

After that step, you can use celocli and the <account address> that hold the cGLD you want to use for voting to run the three following commands to vote for TDlabs_Staked Group.

Command 1 — Locks Celo Gold (cGLD) to be used in governance and validator elections.

Celocli lockedgold:lock — from <account address> — value 10000e18

The example command above is to lock 10,000 cGLD. Replace <account address> in the command above with your address.

Command 2 — Vote for a Validator Group in validator elections

celocli election:vote — from <account address> — for 0x8a12caB622B8093208931fA008D12D6Ba5AF47E4 — value 10000e18

The example command above is to vote for the TDlabs_Staked validator group with 10,000 cGLD. The 0x8a12ca…. is the address for TDlabs_Staked validator group. Replace <account address> in the command above with your address.

Command 3 — To earn rewards as a voter, it is required to activate your pending votes at least 24 hours after voting for the validator group. Rewards will not be earned if this command is not executed.

Celocli election — from <account address>

With that, you are all set and you will start earning voter rewards delivered directly to your address.

A quick note: if your account is stored in a Ledger hardware wallet, the “useLedger” flag needs to be used, for example

Celocli lockedgold:lock — from <account address> — value 10000e18 — useLedger

If you use a custody provider

If you are working with a custody provider, simply ask them to vote for the address 0x8a12caB622B8093208931fA008D12D6Ba5AF47E4 (the TD Labs Address)
