As we’re closing a +1.2 million TL seed financing round, we’re doubling down our investment on the product and the technology that’s powering Volt Lines by growing our tech and sales teams. This is your chance to join a young team determined to make Istanbul a smart and efficient city, by helping transition one of its major transportation networks into the future of urban mobility. Effective immediately, we are hiring the below positions:

  1. Product Designer (UX/UI).
  2. Mid-Senior iOS Developer.
  3. Mid-Senior Android Developer
  4. Backend Developer (Python Django)
  5. Frontend Web Developer
  6. Business Development & Sales Manager

There are +50,000 shuttle buses transporting over a million employees every day in Istanbul alone. Corporates in the city spend over a billion US dollars per year on this highly inefficient market.

Volt Lines is a one-stop solution for employee shuttle transport. Instead of renting buses from bus operators, companies can now buy a monthly access pass for each employee on the Volt Lines platform. Using the Volt Lines passenger app, employees can access all Volt Lines buses in the city at zero additional cost to their companies.

In fact, by switching to Volt Lines, companies save up to 15% versus renting dedicated buses while getting:

  1. Full transportation services provided by Volt Lines; operated with the help of selected forward-thinking partners such a Tursan and others soon to be announced.
  2. An HR/Facility-Management web app that allows easy management of passenger accounts (adding new employees, changing addresses, removing employees, etc..)
  3. An employee app that gives passengers a world-class experience (see live trip details, rate driver, change destination, easy communication with driver)
  4. A driver app that smartly handles routing and operations
  5. A smart routing algorithm that figures out the most efficient route with the most optimal pickup/drop-off points
  6. Predictive driver analytics that can pro-actively identify risky drivers based on their driving behaviors. Together with ZenDrive in San Francisco, we’re able to measure drivers’ hard braking, hard acceleration, speeding and risky behavior even before an employee complains about them.

The future urban mobility is SEA (Shared, Electric, and Autonomous)

The future of mobility is shared, electric and autonomous; and Volt Lines is playing a key role in transitioning Istanbul’s major shared mobility operation into this future. By digitalizing the corporate shuttle bus market, Volt Lines is uniquely positioned at the heart of this global trend, luckily surrounded by +50,000 buses that run very inefficiently.

By improving the efficiency of these buses, Volt Lines has a serious shot at solving Istanbul’s traffic problem. The US and Europe are already using such buses as tools to either replace car ownership or support public transportation with a more premium/comfortable micro-transit dynamic network. Chariot in the US, which got acquired by Ford for 65$m in 2016, is a great example of this trend.

Moia, in the EU, is VW’s subsidiary in Germany, which together with the city of Hamburg, have launched a new electric vehicle designed from the ground up to cater for shared mobility. We at Volt Lines believe that Moia is a serious contender to car ownership, as it redefines the experience of shared mobility, a vision we share with them very strongly.

Watch the introductory video of Moia, VW’s new all electric Shuttle bus built specifically for shared mobility.

You too can be part of this new global trend early on. If your profile and experience fit any of the open positions above, please apply immediately by sending your CV and cover letter to apply@voltlines.com.
