Introducing CMPS

The Wonderland DAO team is excited to announce the launch of the Community Member Proposals (CMP) feature, which empowers community members to create and vote on proposals for the DAO. This feature enables a more democratic and inclusive decision-making process while ensuring the security of the protocol.

To compliment the new Wonderland Management Proposals (WMP) introduced in WIP #32, the Management Team has decided it is best to keep WMPs for team-sponsored proposals and create a different framework for community proposals. The CMP feature offers community members an opportunity to submit their proposals and have a voice in the decision-making process.

How It Works

A new Snapshot page has been created for CMPs to be posted. A holder is able to create a new CMP vote on Snapshot directly if they hold at least 1% of the circulating supply of wMEMO. If a holder does not hold the minimum required, they can post a DAO Discussion on the forum to gather support from a sponsor that holds the minimum requirement. Once a CMP has been posted on Snapshot, the vote will last for 7 days. For a vote to be considered successful, it will require at least 75% of votes in favor. If a vote passes, the management team/multisig will implement the proposal.

A template for CMPs is available on the forum under a new CMP Category. This approach ensures consistency and makes it easier for holders to write and post their proposals.

The CMP feature empowers members to have a voice in the decision-making process, making them more active and engaged. It allows the community to suggest new ideas and improvements, leading to long-term success. Moreover, the ability to seek sponsorship from others encourages a more democratic and inclusive decision-making process where good ideas can be heard regardless of individual holdings.

In conclusion, the CMP feature is a significant development for the Wonderland DAO community, enabling them to have more power in the decision-making process. The seven-day duration for voting provides ample time for community members to review and vote on proposals. The ability to seek sponsorship from others encourages a more democratic and inclusive decision-making process. We look forward to the impact this feature will have on the DAO and its members.

TL;DR

The Wonderland DAO has introduced the Community Member Proposals (CMP) feature, which enables community members to create and vote on proposals for the DAO. To launch a proposal on CMP, a community member needs to own 1% of the current circulation supply of wMEMO. If they lack sufficient voting power, they can seek sponsorship from other members. Once submitted, proposals remain open for voting for seven days, and if they receive a majority of wMEMO votes (75%), they are forwarded to the multisig for execution. The CMP feature empowers members to have a voice in the decision-making process, making them more active and engaged, and ensures the security of the protocol.
