S:I find it very difficult picking out “gospel” songs. Making a really good gospel song is as easy as it is difficult . First the lyrics must line up with the gospel. Second the melody must have the right mix of conservative and solemn and also have some bop in it. I would talk about the vocals but we can all agree that a great voice is necessary even in the lords house. these and many more factors understate why its rather difficult to add a Christian song to my “heavy rotation”. In the giving spirit of easter, I will be giving out my current fave gospel songs. Don’t worry sha, it’s just three picks. Top of the list is Empty Grave by Jubilee Worship. Those guys for me either hit or miss. There is no middle ground. Right beside them are Maverick City.. They should invest in making radio edits cos they are 🔥 but long af.

Some picks this week will take a turn down melancholy street for a bit bear with me.

I like the bounce of Holy water, it’s a really good palm wine song, I have faith in the ability of Wes7ar. Morien too is a hot boy, appaz the industry loves him already.

Finally, the last two picks are a celebration of the fine art of sample beats. Large Amount and Back are ridiculously interesting.

Enjoy your holiday, and tell a friend of Volume UP, we might just make an Easter themed playlist, you know, to remind y’all the “reason for the season”. Till then or our next episode, stay safe, stay trippy and remember to enjoy yourself, this life na one.
