Running an ETCMC plug-and-play node is easy and profitable. However if Windows crashes or you experience a power outage, your node may need some quick maintenance. Let’s walk through how to fix your node and get it back up and running.

If you don’t know what an ETCMC ETC Node is or how it works, check out our YouTube video review to learn more:

Power Outage Problems

My power went out recently and the Node stopped working.

The ETCMC ETC NODE Launcher

The launcher starts but when I click the GETH Client, it starts loading but then disappears.

Here’s what the loading screen looks like before it disappears

How to Fix ETCMC Node Loading Issues:

To address this, you will need to use File Explorer to delete two specific files and rename two other files.

  1. Go to your ETCMC NODE launcher folder found here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\ETCMC ETC NODE LAUNCHER 1024x600\ETCMC_GETH\

This is the Path for the node. If you are running this node on a normal computer, the path could be:

C:\Program Files (x86)\ETCMC ETC NODE LAUNCHER 1920x1080\ETCMC_GETH\

2. If you are unsure which one you are using you can right-click on the shortcut and select “Open File Location.” This will bring you to the right folder.

Within this folder, you will find these four files:

3. Delete the files:
etcpow_balance.txt.enc
transaction_count.txt

4. Remove .bak from the two remaining files.

5. You should now have two files called:
etcpow_balance.txt.enc
transaction_count.txt

After implementing these changes, the client should launch successfully.

Seeing this error?

Sometimes you may see this error when you try to start the GETH client:

Just clicking ‘OK’ and trying to start it again might resolve the issue.
