VoskCoin December 2023 Chia Farming HDD Mining Snapshot
How much did the hard drive mining farm earn over the last month?
VoskCoin increased our Evergreen Miners by nearly 50%, deploying another 42 hard drives this month. Most HDDs were deployed later in the month, and there was a fair amount of troubleshooting to stabilize the HDD mining farm. With nearly 2 PB in physical capacity, we are nearly doubling our 2023 goal of 1 PB of HDD miners deployed. We have now deployed 114 HDDs.
Before the end of 2023 we hope to receive our last miner on order which will help us breach the 2 petabyte physical capacity. Looking forward into 2024 we will be exploring higher compression and DIYing additional Chia XCH farmers but the expansion will slow down as we approach the Chia halving and take a more conservative long-term approach.
To date we have hodled 100% of the Chia VoskCOin has farmed, and look forward to hopefully and exciting future!
The VoskCoin HDD mining shed is cooled with a minisplit, and we upgraded the minisplit to be able to operate in sub-zero Fahrenheit temperatures. This enables us to have an energy efficient and entirely clean HDD mining environment, like a mini data center.

It has been surprising to see the Chia $XCH cryptocurrency trend down in 2023 in price, while the Chia project netspace continues increase, a new all-time high is soon. Compression (increases HDD mining power and thus netspace basically) is playing a big role in this, but still!
