The election in November is going to be a big one, and COVID-19 has raised the stakes significantly. The potential for disruption, misinformation, and chaos were already high, and with the ongoing pandemic states are changing their election rules to respond. Voters need updated and reliable information, and the right to cast their ballot safely.

We need to make it easier for everyone to vote by mail. When more people vote, the more confident we can be that the results were not tampered with, and that the outcome is truly democratic. That’s why we are launching VoteAmerica, a new organization built by a team of election technology experts to help everyone get the information they need about how to get registered, request an absentee ballot to vote by mail, and where to send or drop off their ballot.

Our mission is to boost turnout in all 50 states in the November election using research-driven, cost-effective tactics that scale quickly and easily. We provide simple, accessible and embeddable tools for voters to check their registration status, get registered or request an absentee ballot to vote by mail, find their polling place or ballot drop box, and tell their friends about the election. We will also proactively message vulnerable voters with information they need, when they need it.

We need everyone to be able to vote safely, to fight back against disenfranchisement and polarization. Participation in democracy is a right, not a privilege only for people with access and time. No one should have to wait in hours-long lines to case their ballot. America is better than that, and VoteAmerica is building tools to help us get there.
