Vote.org Celebrates its Third Year of Boosting Voter Turnout
The leading non-partisan non-profit has come a long way in the past three years of fighting for voter rights and increasing voter turnout. Here’s a timeline of its legacy to date:
2016
Vote.org launched in 2016 on April 1. It’s no joke that in the organization’s first year alone, it interacted with 4.6% of the entire American voting eligible population.
2017
By 2017, the nonprofit became a nationally-recognized brand with 6+ million users. The Vote.org team developed proven, scalable, multimedia methods for getting low-propensity voters to the polls, and battle-tested them in Virginia and Alabama.
2018
In 2018, Vote.org registered 1.5 million voters and ran the largest peer-to-peer SMS GOTV drive in America. Its multimedia get-out-the-vote campaign used billboards, peer-to-peer SMS, on-campus advertising, and direct mail to reach over 40 million low-propensity voters.
2019+
In 2019, the organization plans to continue to strengthen its technology to simplify political engagement, increase voter turnout, and strengthen American democracy.
Year after year, Vote.org helps the rising American electorate — youth, people of color, and unmarried women — turn out to vote, in pursuit of a “reflective democracy” that represents the U.S. population.
