Hello, Metaverse citizens!

We are again revisiting an amazing project from our last year’s portfolio. In 2021, we worked with NFT artist, collector, and entrepreneur Kinchasa to create an old-school Music Club called Cipher Rap Club.

The building features an underground style with brick walls, neon lights, special furniture, and two show stages to hold music events, live streamings, freestyle sessions, and community gigs.

The Cipher Rap Club was inaugurated in March 2021. Today, freestylers and music lovers can gather in the club to drop some beats and create music together.

General Information

  • Project name: Cipher Rap Club
  • Client: Kinchasa
  • Type of building: Music Club / Lounge
  • Virtual World: Cryptovoxels
  • Address: https://www.cryptovoxels.com/play?coords=N%4059E%2C409S
  • Main features of the building: Indoors stage with Twitch stream integrated; interactive vinyl rack where users can check out the music available; playable rap explainer; big rooftop stage equipped with DJ table and professional music equipment; custom graffiti art on the walls.

About the project

A cipher is a gathering where rappers, beatboxers, and/or breakers get together to make music. Ciphers flow freely between diverse performers who improvise their words, sounds, or movements to create art through music. Ciphers usually include spectators who play a fundamental role in maintaining the show’s energy.

The Cipher Rap Club is essentially a “Rapping for Crypto” headquarters, a place to create art without restraints. It is a unique lounge in Voxels where users can rap over generated beats, mint their songs, and win crypto with sales and royalties.

At the entry of Cipher, Designed & Built by Voxel Architects

The building was commissioned by Kinchasa, an NFT artist and collector. His goal was to create an HQ for its project where artists could express their art, find their audience, level up their game, and get paid in crypto for creating collectible hip hop.

To achieve this objective, Kinchasa wanted to build a place in the Metaverse that could match the vibe of its project and where users could learn about Cipher, finding all the information in one place.

We helped the client build its dream underground club, taking great care of aesthetics and visual details. We focused on creating different textures for the place, working with dirt brushes, making custom graffiti art on the walls and bathroom stalls, and using all the resources that would give the place the look it needed.

We used Cryptovoxel’s tools to give users quick access to Cipher’s website, app, music playlists, and sign-ups for events.

At the same time, we crafted several voxel assets to give both stages a realistic look and make them feel like actual underground music spots.

You can check out the vinyl rack and listen to an awesome selection of music.

Without a doubt, one of the most impactful features of the Cipher Lounge is the rooftop stage. It includes everything a memorable scenario must have, featuring professional audio equipment and lighting very much like on an actual concert stage.

Creating a realistic underground vibe for the build was a real challenge because we had the arduous task of modeling two stages, each with different purposes: an intimate freestyling space and a big open scenario for live events.

We believe both are able to complement each other and co-exist naturally in the same space.

What this project means to us

Music is a big part of our lives, and the Cipher project is an original and interesting concept that brings music and rap improvisation together with blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.

We think Cipher is a great way to help rappers tell their story through music and help them get rewarded for their art.

At Voxel Architects, we aim always to make the Metaverse grow and develop even further. Helping our friend Kinchasa to carry out this project was an excellent opportunity to fulfill that long-time mission.
