The calendar which describes the history and future of the Universe in 1 year.

Calendar — We know more about it. We humans created it to go through the time . To map the events of our earth(of course some other places in the space) to a particular time. There are many calendars which measure or map the events . The English Calendar is the most followed one, in which one year is equal to 365 days(366 in case of leap year) which in turn is based on the revolution of the earth around the sun.

So, what if we want to visualize the UNIVERSE from its beginning. From BIG BANG to the present state of the Universe where we live now. In our English Calendar, it scales down to billions and billions of years. So to visualize or map the events of universe in a simple manner, COSMIC Calendar was developed . This idea was popularized by CARL SAGAN , the great astrophysicist and scientist.

In the Cosmic calendar , there is only one year i.e., almost 13.6 billion years(predicted age of universe ) is mapped down to a single year of our English Calendar. In this calendar, exactly at the midnight of January 1st, BIG BANG took place and we are living in the midnight of the last day of the year(December 31st).In this scale one second compares to 438 years of the actual Universe approximately and one minute is about 26000 years & an hour is 1.6 million years. A day is about 38 million years.

Let’s dive in to look at the various events of our Universe which were happened when scaled down to this calendar.

This Calendar also mapped the future events like the Sun turning into a dwarf star, saturn losing its rings etc., in the next year. You can checkout some online resources for it.

So, we are just living in the last second of this calendar.

Just think how tiny we are compared to the age of Universe. But mankind has progressed a lot in exploring the Universe. And that’s why we are the most intelligent species in this Universe so far(hopefully 😉) .
