Start every week with VPCo.’s Starting Five, our favorite highlights from the last week in sports.

  1. New football score bug just dropped.

Amazon picked up the rights to Thursday Night Football earlier this year and with a new broadcast partner comes a new graphics package.

This year’s Thursday Night Football graphics package preview is here. We’ll see it’s debut in a couple weeks, but for now, check out the article below for more details.

2. The Minnesota Twins and ARound will debut a new AR platform at Target Field this week that allows fans to play a number of different AR games within the ballpark while competing against other fans.

Currently sponsor-less, the app has the potential for lots of sponsorship integration. Check out more below.

3. The usage of drones in sports continues to grow, this time, taking us on a “ride” through Yankee Stadium.

How far away are we from drone footage being used in a live broadcast? I think we’re closer than we may realize.

4. The best NIL deal we’ve seen in a while is here by way of Nebraska WR De’Coldest Crawford and SOS Heating & Cooling in Omaha, Nebraska. It just makes too much sense.

Without further comment, here is the commercial:

5. Baseball teams love to flex their creativity for fans through unique bobblehead nights, but this time, the fans in Corpus Christi will get flex their creativity.

The “Dia De Los Hooks” gave away a “Paint Your Own Sugar Skull” bobblehead complete with paint and a paintbrush for fans. This is the first time I’ve seen a “create-your-own” bobblehead of sorts and I’m a fan. Well done, Corpus Christi Hooks.

Until next time, best swishes.
