The only VR game you need to play, and it’s free.

Anything is possible in RecRoom, so why play anything else? Play or create anything you can imagine.

RecRoom’s style may be simple, but it runs well on all major VR headsets.

So far RecRoom players have created chill club houses, complex mazes, fantastical scenes with hidden treasures, target practice for Paintball league players, and a Badlands room that mirrors the ever popular Battle Royale game type. As more players join RecRoom the number of quality custom rooms increases.

Want to play a round of archery tag? How about a game of snowball capture the flag? Interested in something a little more relaxing such as a treasure hunt or game of DnD complete with 20 sided dice? RecRoom has it all in an accessible format where you don’t need to leave the headset to experience or create.

Against Gravity has added the ability to create custom rooms, using existing RecRoom spaces or a blank world, and now possibilities are endless. Any functionality that exists in their current game is possible to implement into a custom game world using simple tools. With VR headset on, a player can create any experience imaginable, constrained only by graphics style.

The developers care!

As the RecRoom paintball league enters season 2 playoffs, Against Gravity continues to release new content and improve user experience. Players can now choose between teleportation and smooth locomotion for instance!

A new pirate themed 3 player quest arrived just in time to coincide with the launch of Sea of Thieves. In this quest players not only have to swashbuckle skeleton pirates with swords and brooms, but use objects in their environment to succeed. See a bottle on the shelf? Grab it and throw it at the pirates to stun them!

Be careful, the pirates will throw bottles at you! If you’re quick enough, you can reach out and pluck the bottles from the air just in time to hurl them back. Some of the most satisfying moments are when you successfully catch and return a bottle just in time to save your matey.

Rec Room’s The Isle of Lost Skulls 3 player quest.

Every quest Against Gravity adds seems to take a few more chances on interactivity. It’s exciting to think about what they’re cooking up next. Vehicles?

You never have to play alone.

The population of RecRoom is high enough that players remain online at all times, day or night. The Paintball game mode, perhaps one of the most popular, always has full games being played. The game’s leveling system does a rudimentary, but functional, job at sorting players by skill level so you’re likely to be matched with players that have similar abilities. If populations are low all players will match together in spirit of a social experience.

My personal opinion of RecRoom is it beats any and all other VR experiences to date. Between the official game modes and custom rooms, most every VR experience outside of RecRoom exists, or will exist, within RecRoom itself.

As someone who has been immersed in VR for a couple years with a Vive, Oculus, and briefly Windows MR, I can honestly say it is doubtful I’ll play many other VR games until a truly AAA title emerges. Skyrim VR with mods is worth a purchase, perhaps Pavlov or Onward for those who enjoy military simulations, Elite Dangerous for space faring players, and I’m sure a few racing games are mind blowing if you enjoy hide speed chases.

RecRoom has it all.

For anyone wanting an all around VR experience, perhaps one that mirrors a future OASIS, RecRoom is free and covers all of the bases. Save your money today and use RecRoom as a place to meet new VR friends and practice your virtual skills so when the real experiences emerge, you’ll be ready for full immersion.

Thanks to Against Gravity and their investors for continuing to build an incredible VR experience!
