Once a week, we feature a photographer whose outstanding work has caught our eyes. This week, meet Quân Ngô:

There is no pretense in Quân’s photographs. He simply captures people in their environment, in such a way that his presence seems to not be felt by his subjects, allowing the audience an unobstructed look at the scene.

Just nineteen years of age, Quân is currently a graphic design student at FPT University. He resides in Binh Thanh District of Saigon, within proximity to “Xóm Nước Đen” (a riverside slum) where he captures and documents the daily lives of its inhabitants for his ongoing project.

“My journey to photography began by chance when I saw the work of Chu Việt Hà, a street photographer from Hanoi and more well known names in photography such as Robert Capa and Vineet Vohra. Then birthed my passion for street photography that eventually evolved into something deeper: documentary photography”.
