Tokenized Carbon Offsets
The global market for carbon offsets is growing fast, poses unique challenges in verifying and enforcing offsets. We are working with a crypto exchange to try to using tokenization answers some of those challenges.
We have drafted a preliminary flow including NFT issuance for particular carbon projects or even particular pieces of offset projects. Our partner has enaged a Carbon Project owner who managed 3 carbon offseting projects around the globe.
More down-to-earth NFT offset projects design will be wored out in the following months.The ability to link carbon offsets to a blockchain offers a solution to a number of long-running problems, such as double-counting credits. That promise alone will be enough to drive the NFT offset trend even further.
