Magical Moments & Their Makers
These are moments that elevate the spirit, distinguish pain; the moments when we fall in love, the moments we remember. They give this feeling that someone has your back, this warmth of allowing one’s self to let go, to just be in the present. It’s an awesome feeling, and it’s rare.
It’s rare because it can never happen when being alone. And nowadays being alone is normal. It can even be satisfying on the surface — some Netflix, some IG “social” time, and you’re good to get to bed. You might wake up depressed as F, but it’s fine — by the PM you’ll meet with the warmth of a charged device and nothing else will matter. But it’s empty, and none of us can argue otherwise.
Pushing ourselves to socialize and leave our comfort of being alone has great advantages, and religion understood that a while ago. Look at Judaism — it has a beautiful tradition — Friday night dinner has to be done with people. It’s a Mitzva. And so no matter where you are in the world, no matter if you’re, alone, lonely, or with others, you’re encouraged to have dinner with people. And to much surprise, even if it’s with strangers, there’s a sense of belonging; we all gathered for the sake of something bigger than us. It’s no longer about you or your ego, it’s about the people around you.
And this is a Vybe; it’s the energy, the people, the magic. It’s a feeling, not a fact, and it’s what we remember and cherish. We all have our favorite Vybes; for some it’s a Friday dinner, for some it’s a Saturday nightclub, and for others it’s a Sunday brunch. But it all depends on the basics — being with the right people. And this is what matters — making sure that you have yours.
You should have at least one of two things — a friend group, and a friend-host. Your friend group is the people you’re planning the hangout with, and a friend-host is your connector to what’s popping. If you only have the friend group, one of the members is most likely to have the friend-host; and if you only have the friend-host, they’re most likely to introduce you to their friends — your route to forming your friend group.
The friend-host is an influence IRL; they’re that friend that always invites you to parties and that always introduces you to new people. They can be promoters at nightclubs, fashion enthusiasts, up-and-coming musicians, or house party hosts, but they all have one thing in common — they build a community. And you are a part of it.
Their parties are curated; they make sure that your surroundings fit your energy and are gracious and kind. Add to that the feeling of familiarity generated by a great host who introduces you to their friends — and you got an elevating, unforgettable experience. So whether you go out with your friend group or by yourself, having that influencer-IRL friend is always the best thing you could have. Vybe Together is an invite-only marketplace for private parties, where party people can make friends with influencers IRL and go out with them.
