Hello everyone and welcome to this Hash Rush interview! As it’s been quite a while since we’ve publicly written about our co-founders, and now CCO Rob Nicholls, we thought that it would be a great time to break the ice by having this quick interview to get to know the thoughts of our tea and share them with you! This interview was a quick three-question round with Kris, Nathan, and Rob.

So without further ado, let’s begin!

Question 1:

Recently development on Hash Rush has really begun to show some more life, and that is great to see! So the first question has to be — what is the mood in the company like these days?

Kris

First of all, I wanted to use this opportunity to say I am really thankful of the team that is working on Hash Rush because even with all the struggles we have had they have stuck with the project, showing the will-power and dedication to succeed that any startup is striving for. And we cannot forget the most important asset of the team our community, thank you for your patience, that will be awarded! Talking about the mood inside the studio, of course, everybody is excited to ramp up the production of Hash Rush and deliver to the community new and fun content.

Nathan

After a series of ups and downs, I believe that the overall mood is positive and uplifting. Everyone is working hard to move Hash Rush closer to Beta and later Early Access launch.

Rob

Everyone is really excited that development is back on track. We have always been big believers in Hash Rush and I am just glad that there is once again progress in the project.

Question 2

Blockchain gaming is very new, even when you look at it from a blockchain perspective.

However, a lot of people have spoken about the potential of this fledgling sector, so what are your thoughts on blockchain gaming and are you surprised (or maybe disappointed) that there aren’t more blockchain-powered games that are readily playable, and without a ridiculous cost/barrier of entry?

Kris

When we first step into the blockchain gaming scene with Hash Rush more than two years ago there were only a few games. But during the last year and a half, I think the scene has changed a lot with a lot of new indie games created and some bigger studios like Ubisoft, Activision testing out the technology. That makes me feel thrilled about what is to come! But it still seems like Hash Rush is has stayed a unique part of the blockchain gaming landscape with our vision of easy and free of charge accessible game.

Nathan

Blockchain gaming as an industry is fairly new and Hash Rush is among the first blockchain games that are being developed right now. Hope to see more studios joining us in this adventure.

Rob

Blockchain technology is not mainstream yet, so people who are not in the space really have no idea how it works or what it is good for. That is why we are striving to be one of the first live and playable Blockchain games that require NO tech experience whatsoever. You just download Hash Rush and play! And THAT is what will bring Blockchain into the mainstream.

Question 3

Since we last interviewed each of you (Kris, Nathan, Rob), some of you have changed your role in the company.

What can you tell us about your (new) current role, and how does it differ to what you were doing when Hash Rush was in its ICO1 phase — or in Rob's case when you first joined?

Kris

I was more responsible about the blockchain and mining part of the project. We had a different CEO of VZ games for a while but did not seem to work out. Now I have taken the responsibilities of the as the leader of VZ games and I love it. With such an awesome team, it some times feel like a second family.

Nathan

My role has stayed the same, working on the lore of the game, and assisting Rob with the overall game design.

Rob

I am both excited and grateful that these guys believe in me so much that I have been elevated to the management level. I am now Chief Creative Officer of VZ Games; which basically means I have business tasks in addition to everything I was doing as Lead Game Designer.

Bonus

We can’t have an interview without mentioning the Hash Rush beta, so can you give us a small spoiler about the beta, are there any (so far) unannounced features that you’re particularly looking forward to seeing?

Kris

One thing — blockchain integration! There are some new features that we want to test out using blockchain tech and disrupt the industry once again hopefully.

Nathan

During Beta we will be releasing many systems for the game, listening to player feedback. In terms of future content, there is a lot of stuff that we have not yet teased to the player, but all will be revealed in due time.

Rob

We have a few surprises planned (Blockchain-related of course) that we hope to preview in Beta. But mainly I just want to finish our design for Hash Rush and see what people think.

And that’s it for this quick interview with the team, we hope that you’ve enjoyed it and that you’ve learned something new as well!

The three (four with bonus) questions were all taken at random from the questions that the community has asked us the most on Discord and we really enjoyed doing this.

So, we have a proposal, keep sending us your questions and when we get a few good ones together, we’ll create new quick-fire interviews with that answer exactly what you want to know!

You can send your questions to tenzin@hashrush.com, or write them to us on our Discord server, message us, or leave a comment on our Facebook, or tweet it to us @playhashrush.

We look forward to hearing what you want to know about Hash Rush and the people that work on it!
